Why it matters
The Sleepypod Air works as an in-cabin airplane carrier, a mobile pet bed and a car seat. It is listed by the Center for Pet Safety for pets up to 18 lb (the maker says about 17.5 lb). The shell is luggage-grade nylon, the plush bedding machine washes, the top and ends open, and there are large zip pockets on both sides plus a padded shoulder strap. Sleepypod markets it as airline approved; check your airline.
