Why it matters
Wahl's patented power drive system gives about 30% more torque to move through coats, including double coats on large breeds. Self-sharpening high-carbon blades resist snagging. Four color-coded guide combs (1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in), scissors, finishing comb, blade oil, brush and a storage case are included.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Home grooming
- Double coats
- Owners who want a known brand
Look elsewhere if
- Cord-free needs
- Noise-sensitive dogs
- Professional all-day use
Pros and cons
Pros
- Trusted maker
- Self-sharpening
- Full kit
Cons
- Corded
- Louder than budget quiet clippers
- Heavier
Limitations to weigh
- Brush out mats before clipping, keep the blade flat against the coat and check blade heat often; double-coated breeds should not be shaved short without groomer or vet advice.
