Why it matters
The Sidekick combines a headcollar with a leash in soft rope, applying subtle nose pressure to turn pulling into calm walking. The maker pitches it for leash reactivity, excitement, fear and anxiety alongside training.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Pullers
- Reactivity training with a professional
- Owners wanting one piece
Look elsewhere if
- Retractable use
- Unsupervised wear
- Dogs that refuse face gear
Pros and cons
Pros
- All-in-one
- Soft rope
- Simple
Cons
- Price
- No warranty
- Handling skill needed
Limitations to weigh
- Introduce a head halter slowly with treats, never jerk the leash, and do not use it with a long or retractable leash.
- Work with a qualified trainer for reactivity; equipment alone does not resolve fear or anxiety.
