Why it matters
The Y-shaped harness spreads load and hugs the torso without blocking the shoulders. It has a front no-pull D-ring and a back ring, a top handle for lifting over obstacles, and zippered side pockets for water, bags and snacks. Nylon resists dirt and abrasion, and UTX-Duraflex buckles adjust the fit.
Who it's for, and who should skip it

- Short hikes
- Medium and large dogs
- Dogs that need a lift
Look elsewhere if
- Heavy loads
- Small dogs
- Long expeditions
Pros and cons
Pros
- Grab handle
- Front clip
- Low price
Cons
- Small pockets
- Short trips
- Fit takes care
Limitations to weigh
- Start with an empty pack and keep loads light; a fit adult dog should carry no more than about 10–25% of its weight, and puppies none. Ask your vet first.
- Measure chest girth, neck and back length with a soft tape and use the maker's chart; between sizes, size up.
