Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Simple use
- Indoor interrupts
- Gifts
Look elsewhere if
- Deaf or older dogs with hearing loss
- Homes with other sound-sensitive pets
- Barking when you are not there
Pros and cons
Pros
- Simple
- Battery included
- Light
Cons
- Few specs
- Price
- Dogs habituate
Limitations to weigh
- Find out why your dog barks first: boredom, fear, separation distress and alerting all need different fixes, and a bark collar can make fear or anxiety worse.
- Ultrasonic devices can bother other dogs and cats nearby, and many dogs get used to them; use them to interrupt, then reward quiet.
