Why it matters
Most extenders are cut for mid-size vehicles. This 51 in version is made for compact cars and subcompact SUVs; PROZAR sells other sizes and asks you to measure your back seat. It adds about 40% more space, has zippered side flaps around the doors and uses 600D Oxford in a seven-layer build.

Limitations to weigh
- An extender gives a flat platform; it does not restrain your dog. Pair it with a harness and tether.
