#8 · Price seen: $324.99

SportDOG Rechargeable In-Ground Fence System

For farms and big land: 1.33 acres of wire included and expansion to 100 acres, with a DryTek collar submersible to 25 ft.

How to choose between them

Price the wire as well as the kit: the included wire covers a small area, and each extra spool and splice adds cost and labor. A wire break silences the whole boundary, so buy a break finder or keep a spare spool.

On large land, collars with long battery life and waterproof ratings save the most trouble. Train with flags for several weeks before relying on the system.
