Why it matters
At 71 in, this ramp is longer than most, which lowers the angle into tall vehicles so dogs are less tempted to jump. The aluminum frame with reinforced sleeves supports 250 lb, the rug surface grips paws, and it folds four times to 17.2 x 5 x 19 in. It weighs about 19 lb.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Senior and arthritic dogs
- Tall SUVs and trucks
- Large breeds
Look elsewhere if
- Small cars with little space
- Owners who cannot lift 19 lb
- Tiny dogs
Pros and cons
Pros
- Extra length
- 250 lb capacity
- Grippy rug
Cons
- 19 lb weight
- Needs space to deploy
- Price
Limitations to weigh
- Practice at home on lead with treats before using a ramp or steps at the car; place it on firm, level ground.
- Longer ramps give gentler angles; dogs with arthritis or back problems usually do better with a gentler slope than with steps.
